Circle Of Support

A Message from Leslie Torres, Community Programs Supervisor
I know what it means to feel your own body working against you, to move through each day carrying a weight medicine can measure but never fully name.

As a two-time kidney transplant recipient, I lived the wait. I spent years searching for answers in the space between diagnosis and lived experience only a patient truly knows.

Here, Get to Know Your OPO and Circle of Support were born, forged from the inside, for every patient still living the wait.

Our community deserves resources where clinical expertise and personal experience speak with equal weight.

The answers you have been searching for are here.

— Leslie Torres
Two-Time Kidney Transplant Recipient | Community Programs Supervisor, OneLegacy
About
At OneLegacy, every life we touch is part of a larger story, one rooted in compassion, generosity, and human connection. As advocates for both donor families and transplant recipients, we understand the journey of donation from every side. We are proud to extend our circle of care to the more than 100,000 individuals across the United States who are currently waiting for a lifesaving organ transplant.

This is why we created the Circle of Support initiative.

Circle of Support is designed to meet people where they are in one of the most difficult moments of their lives after hearing the words: you need a transplant. Beyond statistics and waitlist numbers, this initiative centers the human experience, offering guidance, emotional support, and a sense of community for those navigating the uncertainty of waiting.

Through this program, OneLegacy expands its mission beyond awareness and donor registration, continuing to build meaningful connections with individuals on the transplant waitlist. As a bridge of support, we walk alongside each person through their transplant journey, offering guidance, care, and the tools needed to advocate for themselves with confidence.
